I am passionate about graphic design, letterpress printing, printmaking, paper, illustration and all things well designed.
I have a strong understanding of graphic design fundamentals: typography, proportion, scale, color and composition.
I enjoy working with both old and new technology and strive to create elegant, fun designs where all elements are in harmony and the message is communicated effectively.
I have worked as a Graphic Designer for a variety of clients in higher education; Boston College, Boston University,
the University of Colorado and the College of Coastal Georgia, as well as small businesses and non-profits; Dot & Army, Coastal WildScapes and Comma Workshop. I have a great deal of experience with brand development and project management. I have benefited from top-notch training and experience working with the David Allen Company. David Allen created Getting Things Done®, the work-life management system that helps bring order to chaos. He has written multiple best-selling books and is considered the a leading authority in the fields of organizational and personal productivity. My project management skills are an asset I can bring to any project.
I first ventured into the world of graphic design contract work in 2008. I chose the business name Sarah Hearts Design for several reasons. The first being an homage to one of my favorite designers, Milton Glaser, who created the iconic I ♥ NY logo. I grew up in New York and this logo is ingrained into my design soul. I also chose the name because I appreciate all forms of design. I am available for freelance design projects, contact me through the Connect page.
