Lady Hanover PRESS

Lady Hanover Press is the name of my press and small-scale, hobby print shop. Printing is my passion project and since 2016 I've been practicing, studying, and printing. I print for fun and sell at local markets, online, and for occasional custom orders. I am drawn to letterpress printing for the fusion of design, typography, art, machinery and communication.

I enjoy the process of working with old materials to create new, fun, cards and prints.

I use an Adana 8x5 tabletop press originally manufactured in England that has been restored to perfection.
I have an appreciation for how this mechanical print press creates art that feels unique and special.

My studio overlooks Hanover Square
in beautiful Brunswick, Georgia; the illustration at bottom right is the Square taken from a vintage postcard. It still has a fountain I can see from my office and lovely mossy oaks, it's so romantic!

Worked with owner Sarah Goodwin to create one-of-a-kind wedding invitations with a theme based upon a ghost tale of a bride who cheerfully haunts an inn on Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

Love Birds

Graphic Designer

Created save the date cards, invitations and day-of wedding materials.

For the save the date cards, Lisa and Michael wanted an art deco themed invite. I designed the border, chose the type and printed.

For the wedding materials the couple chose a love bird icon for me to incorporate into the design. I created invitations, RSVP cards, an information card with directions, place cards, menus for dinner, dessert and favors, programs and thank you cards.

TOOLS USED: Camera, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, paper, pencil, scissors, ribbon, glue

"You did a WONDERFUL JOB! We received many compliments on the invitations, PEOPLE SAID THEY ARE THE BEST THEY'VE EVER RECEIVED. Thank you so much for being a part of our special day and for creating such unique keepsakes!"
-Lisa & Michael

Tying the Knot

Graphic Designer

This wedding took place on a boat sailing from Manhattan and sailing has been a large part of the couple’s life. I created the “tying the knot” theme, typography and materials.

TOOLS USED: Camera, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, paper, pencil, scissors, ribbon, glue

MATERIALS PRODUCED: save the dates, invitations, ceremony cards, RSVP cards, knot sticker seals, fan programs, seating cards and table numbers based on an illustration of their pooch Stella and “Blue Dog”, their favorite paintings.

"I'm so excited! THANK YOU! I've gotten so many compliments on the invites. You did a great job and I love the added touches!"

Downeaster Wedding

Graphic Designer

The couple wanted the colors red and turquoise, poppies and a vintage feel with typewriter typography.

I created a custom poppy illustration and map of Camden, Maine, the invitation, place cards, table numbers, labels for invitations and the card box, programs that doubled as fans; for the wedding pre-party the couple had a wine tasting party that I created a wine scorecard for and labels for the wine bottles. The invitations were very unique, it was one large sheet of paper printed front and back that included the invitation, more information and the tear-away RSVP postcard.

TOOLS USED: Camera, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, paper, pencil, scissors, ribbon, glue

"I had a very detailed and unique vision in mind for my wedding and Sarah made my dream reality through her TALENT, CREATIVITY, AESTHETIC, ENTHUSIASM and DEDICATION. Guests are still raving of the details Sarah designed. It seems every project Sarah touches turns out a work of art."

Garden Party

Graphic Designer

We wanted guests to feel one-of-a-kind and special, and made materials that would make the journey to Boulder a fun one.

The basis of my design formed from graphic checked paper, peacock blue ribbon and a collection of letterpress blocks, which have since been transformed into a digital alphabet.

My inspiration created: save the date cards, inked, boxed and wrapped invitations, a custom map and guide to Boulder, RSVP cards for the pre-party and wedding, a band around the downtown Boulder map,  note cards for guests to write notes to the happy couple, a box for the note cards, the quote note cards were also the favor given to guests with a thank you tag as well, name tags and gift bags for the pre-wedding party, place settings, table numbers and the terrariums with the numbers, menus for the dinner, desserts and drinks, napkins and programs that doubled as fans.
